HIGH SUSPENDED SOLIDS For a factory the suspended solids were high, the suggested solution was to install one more clarifier. Even after installation of two clarifiers, their problem reduced but not completely solved. However, when we took over the project, we modified the collection system and eliminated the problem completely.

HIGH TDS A lot of alkali need to be added for a food processing unit to maintain a particular pH for an anaerobic digestor. This created the additional TDS problem for the treated effluent. One more anaerobic digestor was installed. Again the TDS problem was not solved. The obvious next move is to put up an RO plant. However, by applying waste minimization techniques, we could solve the problem without any additional equipment.

While processing xytel plastic, different types of vapours are emitted & they are generally collected in a collection mechanism. A Biological system was in operation & it was also very difficult to operate, as the quantity of solids and foam coming with the effluent was random. “Foam formation further adds to the difficulty”. Around 10 plants all over the world, belonging to a MNC, could not solve the problem.

We have studied the system & proposed suitable modifications. With the suggested modification, the need for a biological treatment plant is completely eliminated as all the waste is better trapped ahead of the vacuum system, and the plant has become zero discharge in one go.

       A Few of our Achievements:

In a Confectionary factory we have where 150kg/day of caustic was added, by suitable modification this  was reduced to 90kg/day.
In an electroplating unit in auto ancillary the caustic reqd was brought down to from 2000kg to 600kg in the alkali degreasing tank by increasing the life of th solution to 4 years.

A xytel processing unit was producing an effluent of 40m3/day of high BOD. We have completely eliminated the need for the treatment plant and the vacuum has also gone up.

In the place of 250HP imported compost mixing machine for high BOD effluent,we have developed almost  of similar of similar capacity using 45HP.

In the silk processing disposal of sericin is a major problem. Using a unique membrane technology, we have achieved a proper disposal.
